TRANSLATION OF AUTHOR’S NEOLOGISMS IN CINEMATOGRAPHY (ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE FILM “BIG FRIENDLY GIANT”)

Abstract

This article investigates tactics and strategies for the translation of author’s neologisms in the film “Big Friendly Giant”, based on Roald Dahl’s novel of the same name. The authors have analysed the translation of occasionalisms from English into Ukrainian according to the translation solutions classification by Vinay and Darbelnet. The main solutions and strategy for the translation of author’s neologisms in the studied material have been determined.
