PECULIARITIES OF TEXTUAL SPACE ORGANIZATION IN MULTIMODAL VISUAL GRAPHIC TEXT (BASED ON THE ENGLISH-LANGUAGE COMIC BOOK)

Abstract

The article has been devoted to the description of textual space in the comic book, as well as the combination of verbal and non-verbal elements included in it. The comic book as a multimodal text requires two types of mode, namely text and picture. Through the combination of verbal and visual means, a holistic understanding of the text achieves a pragmatic impact on the reader. The organization of elements in text blocks, as well as their sequence, plays a key role in overcoming the barrier to understanding the information presented in the text and constructing a story.
