ON SOME ASPECTS OF STUDYING MULTIMODALITY IN A POLITICAL DISCOURSE

Abstract

The article deals with multimodal approach to studying a political discourse, and namely to studying its constituents. A short review of multimodal approach application in linguistic research is presented. It is shown that multimodal traits are typical of all constituents of this type of discourse. The manifestation of one of the instruments of political manipulation the addressee (of t so-called anchors) is demonstrated in the angle of linguistics; the expediency and topicality of the chosen approach as to a political discourse analysis is proved.
