Abstract

This article deals with the lexical units which are the most useful in the speech of Pittsburgh’s citizens and the most popular for this region. The examples of lexical units of Pittsburgh and its surroundings are mentioned in this paper. They call such units «Pittsburghese» and all of them have different meaning depending on the context, as follows: «yinz» and «yinzer».
