Abstract

The article deals with the potential of antonymic translation as an efficient tool when translating English imaginative writing into Ukrainian. The authors analyze negative and positive colorings of this translation technique and come to the conclusion that negative coloring tends to be used more frequently, which is due to the specific features of the Ukrainian linguoculture.
