Abstract

The article depicts a range of a new sphere ethnolinguistics – ethnopragmatics. In the context of ethnopragmatics we research English phraseologisms with culinary component. Phraseologisms of any language have a pragmatic status which lies in making the influence on the addressee. The pragmatic functioning of phraseologisms in communicative acts is limited to certain communicative situations, linguo-cultures.
