ADVERBS AS A COMPONENT OF ADJECTIVAL-ADVERBIAL PHRASES IN THE UKRAINIAN AND ENGLISH LANGUAGES

Abstract

The paper deals with the contrastive study of adjectival-adverbial phrases in English and Ukrainian. The peculiarities of the adverb compatibility with adjectives are described in the paper. It has been found that among the components of adjectival-adverbial phrases exist attribute semantic-syntactic relations, semantic specialization of which depends on the meaning characteristics of adverbial words.
