THE “HERMENEUTIC RING” AS A MECHANISM FOR INTERPRETING THE ORIGINAL WHILE WORKING AT A LITERARY TRANSLATION

Abstract

The article describes the functioning principle of the “hermeneutic ring” as a universal interpretative mechanism and its role in working at a literary translation. As illustrative material employed is the opening fragment of M. Bulgakov’s novel “The Master and Margarita” and its English translations.
