ARTLANG AS AN EMBODIMENT OF THE VIEW OF A FANTASTIC WORLD IN THE ORIGINAL AND IN THE TRANSLATION (BASED ON R. ADAMS’ LAPINE LANGUAGE)

Abstract

The article is dedicated to characterizing the Lapine artlang as an embodiment of the view of a fantastic world and to the specifics of its reproduction in the Ukrainian language. Due to the combination of two opposite strategies – domestication and foreignization – the translator strives to unite linguistic parameters of artlangisms with his own (ethnomental) preferences and ethnocultural interests of potential recipients.
