CULTURE DETERMINED UNITS IN LITERARY TEXT AS A MEANS OF LINGUISTIC WORLDVIEW FORMATION (CASE STUDY OF THE ENGLISH TRANSLATION OF “ANNA KARENINA” BY TOLSTOY L.)

Abstract

The article highlights the verbalization of a number of concepts (“Clothing”, “Food”, “Interior”), which reflect the Russian world-view, in the English translational version of the novel “Anna Karenina” by Tolstoy in Russian (original) and English translation by K. Garnett. These concepts are realized primarily through lexical and phraseological units – cultural and social details. Translational analysis shows the different dimensions of perception of such concepts by the source and target audiences.
