Abstract

The paper first analyzes the specificity of Ukrainian culturally marked lexicon indicating the traditional images of folk
poetry, rendered into Japanese. The possibility / impossibility of preserving their main characteristics – associative links,
national coloration by means of structurally and culturally remote language has been considered.
