INTERTEXTUAL PROSE CODES BY ORHAN PAMUK (CASE STUDY OF THE NOVEL “THE WHITE CASTLE”)

Abstract

The article investigates intertext connections of the novel The White Castle by Orhan Pamuk; it has absorbed the traditions of the Turkish shadow play Karagöz alng with the artistic experience of literatures of another nations. In the text of the novel there is an expressive reception of the motifs and images of Renaissance, Baroque and Romantic literatures that are viewed through the prism of postmodern poetics. Intertextual codes form a dialogical paradigm of the novel with expressive features of the novel-myth, and serve as the embodiment of the relationship between East and West, one of the main themes of creativity by Orhan Pamuk.
