THE PROBLEM OF STUDYING THE PHRASEMES OF THE MODERN ENGLISH LANGUAGE BY STUDENTS OF NON-PHILOLOGICAL PROFESSION

Abstract

This article stipulates that phraseological units along with images, symbols, stereotypes of people’s consciousness that they contain, possess methodological potential in foreign language teaching, including the teaching to students of non-philological profession. In this work the thematic approach of studying the phraseology of modern English was analyzed. Also the concepts of thematic field of the phraseological unit and thematic indicator have been revealed. It is proved that usage of the concept that consists in studying the thematic fields of phrasemes will accelerate the enrichment of the speech of students of non-philological profession in learning modern English language.
