THE SPECIFICITY OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE BASIC CONCEPT OF JEWISH LINGUOCULTURE KASHRUT IN ENGLISH SPEAKING THROUGH THE PRISM OF CULTURAL CODE

Abstract

The article analyzes the verbalization of the concept of Jewish culture KASHRUTH in the English language. Topicality of this article is determined by correlation of linguistic and conceptual worldviews under the conditions of the globalizing processes, importance of further studying mental linguistic formation – concept, cultural code as material and spiritual formation which contains significant information about the certain linguoculture. In the article the importance of anthropological linguistics is underlined. Linguistic conceptology is understood as the continuation of classic structural and functional semantics, which is enriched by the data of the neighboring disciplines: culturology, cognitology, sociology. The concept is explained through the analysis of three layers: notional, imaginative, evaluative. The metaphors are decisive for the understanding of ethnic mentality. The following items have been revealed: linguoconcept, gastronomic worldview, cultural code. The classification of codes is given, somatic, space, temporal, objective, biomorphic and spiritual ones. It is highlighted that gastronomic cultural code is the accumulation of material experience, which is acquired by the nation in the process of its historic formation, the basics of it are the realities connected with the food products, the process of cooking. Thorough attention is given to etymological basis of the concept, its imaginative scope, in particular through use of epithets and naming unit kosher in attributive function, explanation in the English-speaking dictionaries, that is the realization of notional component of the concept. In this research semantic, linguocognitive, linguocultural feature of the concept have been analyzed. The attention is paid to the functioning of the concept in the jokes in English, to the certain modifications of its primary meaning, combining Jewish and Chinese components in the naming units. The mentality has been viewed as broader notion than national character. It is underlined that there exist taboos in different cultures. Jewish humor is special and full of irony. In the Jewish jokes there is not only the unexpected ending, which is the typical of jokes in general, but also the targets of laughter, exaggerating are the ethno specific peculiarities.
