Abstract
The article analyzes the components of the communicative competence of the aviation specialist (linguistic, sociolinguistic and pragmatic competence), the content of linguistic competence and the elements of the process of forming the linguistic skills of the future air traffic controllers. It has been proved that the combination of active speaking skills (speech rate) and listening (speech comprehension) provides the ability to successfully communicate. The effectiveness of using an active approach which is based on the reproduction of audio and video files, communicative approach, aimed at language learning through communication and interactive teaching methods, the value of which is to practice theoretical knowledge has been proved.
