RENDERING OF EROTICISMS AS THE MAIN DOMINANTE OD E.L. JEAMS AUTHOR’S IDEOLOGY (BASED UPON THE TRILOGY OF E.L. JEAMS “50 SHADES OF GREAT”)

Abstract

The trilogy “50 Shades of Grey” by author E. L. James is a series of erotic novels, where the character of the heroes and the development of these characters are shown through sex. Accordingly, erotics is the main dominant of E. L. James author's ideology, which is expressed by eroticism in language. We define “eroticism” in literature as a lexical unit, aimed at denoting the concepts associated with different aspects of intimacy. Based on this definition, and analyzing the research material, we have defined the following classification of eroticisms: the denotation of intimate relationships; the designation of male and female genital organs; designation of persons who have intimate relationships; designation of sexual deviations. . After analyzing the research material, we determined the following translation strategies of eroticisms: foreignization and domestication. The domestication strategy prevails in the translation of eroticisms, which, in our opinion, is unacceptable in the translation of erotic novels, because it causes the improper reproduction of the author's ideology. That is why, eroticisms should be under research in the literature and the theory of translation.
